Come Basics
by Larry Edell
Many new Crapshooters dont understand come bets, but they honestly are very simple - and profitable! A come bet is sort of a pass line bet, but it is made after the pass line point is established. You could possibly place your bet in the come box and the following point that the shooter rolls becomes your personal point, and if the shooter makes it you win. If he rolls a seven before your point repeats, then you definitely lose your bet. The opposite rules of a pass line bet also apply to the come bet. While your bet is within the come box, a 7 or 11 will win, and a 2, 3 or 12 will lose. And as with a pass line bet, you can not remove your bet once it's placed.
The real difference between the pass and are available bets is the method involved in order to provide favorable results. Many come bet players are more experienced and rely on using hefty odds to provide a hefty profit, so the bankroll involved is higher than that of an ordinary pass line player.
Come bets can even signify which numbers repeat so players could make multiple bets on these numbers, in place of being confined to simply one point number on the pass line. Lets have a look at an example. The pass line point is six, and you place a green chip ($25) at the come line. The following roll is an eight, so your bet moves to the eight, which becomes your own point. Now you can add odds in your bet. Most casinos allow no less than 2X odds ($50). If the shooter rolls another eight, you'll win your bet you get a complete of $85 - $25 out of your flat bet and $60 out of your odds bet. However, if he rolls a seven before the eight rolls, you lose your bet.
It is interesting to notice that in case you have your $25 at the come line and a seven rolls, you are going to win your bet, however the players at the pass line will lose theirs, as their pass line point of six had already been established.
Conversely it's possible for the shooter to make his six point and leave your come bet at the eight up for the following pop out. On this instance, youll find a way of calling the percentages component of your bet on or off for the pass line pop out point. If your odds bet is on and the shooter rolls a seven, youll lose your bet. If he rolls an eight then youll win.
Most come players usually call their leftover come bets on if they have two or more come bets. In the event that they have only one come bet, it's called off. It's because the mix of 2 or more points will roll equal to or greater than the seven, while anybody point number will roll less than the seven does.
There is one last item about come bets you would like to know, that's an Off and On bet. You'll keep placing come bets on every roll, so if you already have a big gamble at the eight you'll place another come bet. Now, lets say the eight rolls again and also you win. Normally the dealer pays off your come bet and take away it, after which move the brand new bet to the eight box and add your odds to it. To make this so much easier, the dealer will take a look at you and ask, Off and On?
This means he'll leave your old bet up, with the similar odds, take your new come bet, and pay you to your win. It just makes everything so much easier for both the dealer and the player. Come bets are a Crapshooters way of increasing profits while betting at the hot numbers of the table. Next time you play, give come bets a try!
And, as always, good luck on the tables!
